Netball Tour 19-21/05/17

(Quick disclaimer, there are hardly any photos of me as I was the chief photographer on the trip, but all these photos are my own)

Netball is something me and Jess really enjoy, It’s active, and it brings people together as friends and teams.

So on Friday at around 3 pm, our netball teams set of to Condover hall in Shropshire, to play in a netball tournament. it was about a 4 and a half hour journey due to traffic but we finally got there in time for dinner, we then were put into our rooms and slept very well 🙂

We woke up reasonably early in the morning, had breakfast, and then spent the morning doing activities which the tour company had arranged. Jess did laser quest with some girls from her team and I did Trapeze and high ropes with others from my team. It was exciting and very enjoyable, and all the staff were so lovely, Condover hall was beautiful, and the grounds were amazing.

We had a quick lunch in the canteen, and then spent the afternoon playing netball, As me and Jess are different ages, we are in different teams, but it just so happens we are both the captains of our teams! It was tiring and exciting and both our teams won and lost a few matches, so overall we were happy.

We then had dinner and spent the evening in our rooms chilling.

On Sunday We Played the rest of our matches, and were exhausted by the end! Although mine and Jess’ teams didn’t win, we were so proud of ourselves and teammates and couldn’t have asked for more.  Throughout the tour, when someone did something silly, they had to wear ‘the Tutu’ – it was very very funny, and obviously on Sunday Jess tripped over a tree root and sprained her ankle – so she was presented with the Tutu. Lets just say she wasn’t impressed. Overall we Loved the tour and are looking forward to the next one!

Happiness and Positivity

Happiness is one of those things that will always exist in the world in the same way that every other emotion does. It is however something you have to look for sometimes when things get tough but it IS always there. I feel like in 2017 a lot of people made a promise to only keep things in their lives that have a positive effect and I think this year I really did that. We all can find happiness anywhere as long as we look for it.

It is also important to know yourself and what makes you happy. If it’s taking time for yourself and having a bath or reading a book, or putting a coat on and walking wherever your feet take you, whatever it is, do it. Make time for it and do it as often as you can. At the end of the day, in a world full of stress and business there are always little nooks of tranquility and the more time you make for them, the more they come.

Being healthy, as hard as it can seem, can make life so much happier. On days when I get up at 1pm and eat complete rubbish and sit watching TV all day, are amazing every now and again, but everyday? It can make life seem long and hard and not very productive. If you drink water, eat healthier, try and get some exercise every day, (particularly at the start of the day. When I start the day with exercise and then shower I feel so refreshed the whole day is far more productive) and spend time with people you love, being happy becomes so much easier.

Happiness is something that becomes easier to grasp as you get older, but of course not everything is going to be peachy all the time. Allowing yourself to feel down is allowed, of course, we are all only human and we hurt sometimes. But dwelling on it is what makes it most painful. Feel upset, let it hurt, but as soon as that sadness goes, leave it there. Try not to pick it back up again and just look forward. Live in the moment not the past, not the future.

These are just a few photos of times where I lived in the moment, and had SO much fun. I encourage you to pursue everything you love and always make time for happiness because nothing will replace it.

As I mentioned in a previous post about Israel, Megan and I are both pescatarian. For anyone who doesn’t know, this means we don’t eat meat, but we do eat fish. This was one of our new years resolutions and so far we’re going strong.

There are many reasons for people becoming vegetarian or vegan or pescatarian or anything in between. This post isn’t to convince anyone to do this it’s just us talking about it and explaining what it’s like.

Megs and I both have similiar reasons but they aren’t the typical ones most people have. We both know that for us personally it’s healthier to not eat meat. I’m not saying that it is what is healthier for everyone, but for us not eating meat is. It is also better for the planet. Eating lots of red meat is bad for the environment and even if it’s only two people, that will still make a small difference to the planet. A lot of people believe that it’s not fair on the animals that we eat them. I don’t believe it’s bad that we eat them. I do think that the way some animals are treated in farms and factories etc. is disgusting and needs to change, but the actual process of eating meat, in my opinion only, is the food chain and the circle of life and all that jazz. I believe we were supposed to eat them and it’s how they’re treated when they’re alive that is the problem, not eating them afterwards.

These are some pictures of food Megs has made/eaten recently…

Both us being keen sportswomen, we need to make sure we still have enough protein to keep us healthy while we do sports. This is why we still eat fish… and we both loveeee a good bit of sushi 😉

Here are a few of my favourite recipe books, two of which are vegan, which are perfect for every meal of the day.

Eat Smart – Niomi Smart      £31.21

Deliciously Ella Everyday    £17.94

Fern Cotton – Cook Happy, Cook Healthy      £20

Mine and Meg’s favourite fish restaurants are by far, The Jetty in Brighton and The Porter in Bath.

I hope this inspires you to enjoy every bite of food you eat and even, if you aren’t vegetarian, or maybe you are, have a try of things like beans and lentils ensued you don’t have to be vegetarian to eat yummy food that doesn’t have meat in it. 🙂

Israel 27-3/12-01/2016-2017

Israel is country very close to my (Jess) heart. My sister lives there and so do a lot of my family. So when it was time for us to go visit her there, who better to go with than my best friend? The trip started after Christmas and over New Year and we came back fresh in 2017.

Flight and Arrival

We started in Tel Aviv, a big city by the beach. We stayed in the David Intercontinental Hotel which was HUGEEE. There are hundreds of rooms and a lovely pool, unfortunately the pool wasn’t open as it was the height of winter in Israel, which obviously to us Brits was sunglasses and shorts weather, but it’s the thought that counts. One thing we can say about that hotel was we have never eaten such good pitta in our lives and we were stuck with constant bloated tummies full of gorgeous hummus.

One of the days we went into the city of Jaffa to the markets, both of us bought “Israelis” also known as Firepants. They are comfy, thin, baggy trousers often with Middle-Eastern patterns all over them.

thumbnail_FullSizeRender (8)

We found lots of pretty hidden gems in the city and typical us, took many pictures of them. Jaffa is such a beautiful city and we also saw the view over the sea from a viewpoint… we seemed to stumble across a lot of viewpoints over the trip.

Before going to dinner at a vegan restaurant we might have ordered room service

Another great day we had was a day trip to Jerusalem. We visited the Western Wall and ate amazing Shwarma (Before vegetarianism). The city is so pretty, full of ancient stone and winding streets.

We also apparently both decided we were farmers that day and we have to say both of us are loving dungarees at the minute! Mine are from Urban Outfitters and Meg’s are from Topshop.

New Years Eve

(Megs) the next day – new years eve – we packed our bags and headed North to stay at a different hotel, stopping on the way for some food at a restaurant in an Arabic town. Me and Jess found the whole experience very interesting as the town was different to anywhere we’d been before. We also managed to find a beautiful viewpoint again…

When we finally made it to the hotel we were amazed at how beautiful it was! Me and Jess basically had our own house in the trees, there were only about 4 rooms in the whole hotel and we were the only guests there at that time so we were treated like royalty 🙂 We then quickly got ready for new years celebrations and wore two dresses from American Apparel which we bought on the first day, and headed out to dinner.

thumbnail_FullSizeRender (19)

The restaurant was amazing and the food was so so so good! Here’s our desserts… (sorry for bad quality they are from a video I took!)

Once we got back to the hotel it was less than an hour till 12:00 so we changed into Bikinis and got into the Hot tub for the countdown!

New Years Day

New years day was probably one of my favorite days ever, simply because all we did was lie in bed all day (We know, great way to start the year). We set resolutions, ate, slept, drank gorgeous tea, binge watched Naomi Smart and also became empowered to become Pescetarian, and we still are to this day! We also got some very cute,  furry and small visitors…

The next day was also pretty chill, we visited the village and had a cute lunch in a cafe.

Leaving ;(

We were extremely sad to be leaving the beautiful country but the plane was calling us, so we got on a midday flight and landed back in England in the evening. We also did some shopping in the beauty section of Duty Free…. obviously?!

April Favorites

Welcome to our first Favorites post of the month! This is what we’ve been loving in the glorious month of April…

First up in the beauty category is:

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in the shade ‘I’m Nude’ (which I purchased from Beauty Bay).

This colour is EVERYTHING! I struggle to find pale nude liquid lipsticks that wont look dark on me as every liquid lipstick I own seems dramatically darker than the pictures as I have pale skin BUT this lipstick is the perfect colour for my complexion and its a beautiful cool toned pinky-nude. The formula is amazing – its dries down but still has a slight tackiness so it doesn’t dry out your lips. I cant stop wearing this and I would 100% recommend

Price: £16

Nivea ‘Rich Regenerating Night Cream’

I decided to change my night cream at the start of the month as my skin is getting even more dryer as the days get hotter, so I opted for an intensely moisturizing night cream aimed for dry skin gals. This cream feels so smooth, rich and luxurious and Iv’e definitely noticed a difference in the dryness of my skin! LOVE LOVE LOVE

Price: £3.02 (specific?!)

Lush ‘Dark Angels’ face and body scrub

Only bought This recently but I had to add this to my favorites. Iv’e loved lush for years and I love what they stand for – and this product is soooo good. It seems scary at first because its a very dark black colour due to the Charcoal added in the scrub, but when you use it it really feels like your face is being deeply cleansed and I love that! Its also full of super raw and organic ingredients which benefits the skin.

Get a small amount from the tub, and mix it into a paste with some water (see photos) then apply to face 🙂

Price: £7.25/100g or £18.10/250g

As a whole i’m loving skirts in spring (original I know…) but I have Three specific favorites:

The Topshop Mini Denim Skirt , The Primark pleated satin skirt (Primark don’t sell online so I will link a picture – you’ll be able to find it in stores) and the Primark cream A-line mini skirt (Again this isn’t online and I was unable to find a picture but I will post one below of me wearing it – you’ll be able to find it in stores)

I think skirts are so in right now and they are the perfect thing to take an outfit to the next level, I love the fact they can be casual and formal!

Topshop skirt: £29

Primark pleated skirt: £13

Primark A-line skirt: £10

Home wear…

Urban Outfitters ‘Sloth Print’ Mug

This beautiful mug was a present from none other than Jess (surprise surprise). We both have this mug and honestly it feels so special every time I use it, not only is it Good quality but its just the cutest thing ever! Like my mum says “Tea tastes better in a good mug”.

Price: £5-10 (cant remember)

So my first beauty favorite of the month is:

The Loreal pure clay glow mask (the pinky/orange one)

Considering the hours that I have to be up for, I most definitely do NOT get enough sleep, so naturally I have quite dull skin. I apply this mask once or twice a week and leave it on for about 15 minutes, sometimes a bit it longer if I’m in the bath but be careful not leave it too long because, as any mask would, it could start to irritate you skin. The mask has tiny exfoliating beads which help with textured skin and the colour just makes your skin the brightest most healthy looking thing you have ever seen. If I’m having a dull skin day or want a bit of a pamper, I live by it.

Price: £7.99 for the 50ml that comes in the tub

Elf Mad for Matte eyeshadow palette

I must admit this is a pain to get hold of and customs and border prices are wayyyy too high, but I wouldn’t put it up on here if I didn’t think it was worth the money. Especially for the price, this palette is amazing and is so comparable to eyeshadows more than twice its price and it has every eyeshadow to make perfect, warm eye looks, dramatic and less so. Lots of crease shades and nice darker ones to deepen the crease and smoke out the look too. I have been using this none stop this month.

Price: $10/£7.80

Next up I’ve got a fashion favorite for this month which is…

I’ve always loved rings and wear them everyday and I liked wearing necklaces and bracelets etc. but always found myself forgetting to put them on and just going without them. Recently I’ve been wearing them a lot more and I feel they just complete an outfit perfectly. I don’t have any specific favorites but I love doubling up necklaces or adding two charms from different chains onto one to create my own jewelry. I recently bought a few bits from Topshop including a ring set which I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of. Any jewelry in general is lovely just to add a little extra to any outfit.

I know reading isn’t for everyone, Megs definitely isn’t books’ number one fan, but when we go traveling together she enjoys reading magazines etc. Over the Easter holidays I’ve massively rediscovered my love for reading and read through many books. It’s such a nice way to unwind at the end of a day, or a refreshing easy start at the beginning. You can be absorbed into a whole different person’s work and that’s the magic of it.

My current favourite book of all time is “Everything Everything” by Nicola Yoon. It is part of Zoella’s book club and I received it as a present for my birthday last year.

Price: £7.99 in store/£5.14 from amazon

The sky

I don’t know whether you can tell yet, but I’m a bit of a spiritual one. I’m all about nature, not in a “I want to go live like Bear Grylles with my sloth friends,” but appreciating how beautiful the world we live in is, is always at the top of my list. The sky is such a huge and beautiful thing that whenever I’ve had a stressful or not a great day, I look at the sky and 9 times out of 10, the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen. It always reminds me that no matter how big i think the problem is now, it is nothing compared to my life and the world. I helps to put everything in life into perspective, while being a sight for sore eyes. So maybe next time you’re having a bad day or just a bad minute or two, look up

(PS. all these photos were taken by Jess – They are stunning) thumbnail_FullSizeRender (24)thumbnail_IMG_7514thumbnail_FullSizeRender (25)thumbnail_IMG_7516

How I got the Look!

  1. First I applied The Mac paint pot all over my lids to prime them (This is very

important to do!)

2. I then set that with the white colour called ‘Strange‘ from The Naked 3 palette

3. Using the same palette, I Put thumbnail_FullSizeRender (38)Limit‘ all over and in

crease and built it up bit by bit sweeping upwards

4. I then added ‘Nooner‘ from Naked 3 and concentrated it in the outer v of my eye.

5. I then grabbed my Chocolate Bar palette and added ‘Strawberry bon bon‘ all over the crease to blend the previous eye shadows together and to make the look a little more pinky.

thumbnail_FullSizeRender (39)

6. To intensifythe pinkiness of the crease a little more I added a little bit of the Nars blush ‘Orgasm’ right in the crease – but not blending upwards

7. Taking the Naked ultimate basics palette, I then added a little bit of ‘instinct‘ to faintly cut the crease. (the 2nd in from the right)thumbnail_FullSizeRender (40)

8. I then cut the crease using the collection concealer and a synthetic brush, putting the concealer all over my lid.

9. Then the fun part! I dipped my brush into the NYX glitter, sprayed it with Fix + and added it on top of the concealer, being careful not to place it anywhere else.

10. Using my Mac eyeliner I then did a simple wing

11. I then drew another wing directly above it using the NYX pink liner

12. Going back into the Naked ultimate basics palette I put ‘Commando‘ all under my bottom lash line. (3rd in from left)thumbnail_FullSizeRender (40)

13. I then Intensified it using ‘Lethal from the same palette, focusing on the outer edge and blending inwards. (end right)

14. for an inner corner highlight I used Becca’s Moonstone

15. I then added my falsies by Kiss

16. Next I went over my Lashes With the Better than sex mascara to join them with the falsies.

17. I then added random dots of the NYX pink liner under my eye

18. Lastly I did the same, But added the glitter instead

Conclusion of New Products

I LOVEEEEEEEEE them! I think my favorite has to be The Vivid Brights Liner, it’s so pigmented and goes on so smooth. The glitter is also a Beautiful colour and it’s not too chunky 🙂

Final Result

Brighton 13-14/02/17

For my (Megs) Birthday,  I only wanted to do one thing – go to Brighton. Its not that I hadn’t been before, but its just my favorite place in England and it brings me a great deal of happiness.

So we went for two days in February, and stayed in the Queens hotel, which is right by the sea and we had a beautiful view from our window. Me and Jess also both agreed the beds were extremely comfy.

Day 1

We focused on the Lanes when we arrived in the late morning and first stopped for a quick early lunch at good old Pret A Manger. We then walked through the lanes admiring the unique shops and amazing atmosphere, we bought a top and jacket from a vintage shop and lots of cute little snacks including two cups of tea from our favorite tea shop EVER Bluebird tea co., two cupcakes from the famous Angel food bakery and two juices from 42 juice – we approved

We then headed back to the hotel, enjoying a walk on the beach whilst the sun set on the way.

For dinner we went to our favorite restaurant The Jetty, which is a modern seafood restaurant. The food was delicious as always and they even surprised me with a little birthday desert and sing song.

Day 2

Day 2 was Valentines day as well as a full on Shopping day. After having breakfast at the hotel we headed to Churchill Square shopping Center and first bought a couple things in Topshop before heading to Urban Outfitters and going a bit crazy (which is normal for us). we also made purchases at Pull and Bear and Bershka. Lastly we grabbed a quick takeaway GBK and bubble tea which we ate/drank in the car on the journey home.

Till next time Brighton

Bath 17-19/4/17

We traveled to Bath, UK for two and a bit days this week and overall loved the town and the vibe! here’s what happened over the few days…

After the hour and half journey  and the usual car singalong, we checked into Queensberry hotel which was very cute and very welcoming, we then headed out to have brunch/early lunch at a lovely cafe type place called ‘The Loft’, the food was incredible and just what we needed. I had a goats cheese, pepper and cress melt and Jess had a cheese, tomato and pesto panini with a side salad of peas, beans, tarragon and other healthy veg.

We then headed down to the shops and had a massive splurge in Primark (which was part of the plan we promise!) and bought some nice spring/summer clothes. We also went to Topshop and bought a couple of lovely things too, I bought a cute playsuit which has a lovely green and pink tropical print, and Jess bought a ring set which have beautiful stones in, and a black and white patterned bikini.

We then walked back to our hotel room, chucked our shopping in our room and found a nice spot outside to take some photos,IMG_0538IMG_0528After the mini photo shoot we quickly changed outfits and headed out for dinner at a restaurant called The Porter’, the food was AMAZING and our waiter was lovely! Me and Jess shared two mains, One was Sea Bass with asparagus, aubergine caviar and a butter sauce and the other was crab, with pickled pear and some type of biscuits. For desert Jess had a Sticky Toffee pudding and I had a lemon meringue pie.

We had an early breakfast in the hotel, and then headed to the ‘Thermae Bath Spa’ in the town, which is a spa with pools which are natural hot spring water from bath, we got changed into bikinis and robes and headed to the top floor, which is a rooftop pool looking over sunny Bath. The pool was lovely and warm and occasionally the pool bubbled like a hot tub. We then had a quick stop in the cafe there and Me and Jess had a quick mocha and a nice read of a book/magazine. We then headed to the bottom floor to the inside pool which is the same water and temperature as the previous pool and had anther swim and read before leaving. The whole spa was very relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there! (they didn’t allow phones or photography in the spa so here’s some photos I found online)

We then spent a little more time in town, had a wagamamas for lunch and bought some macaroons as a sweet treat (I got chocolate, salted caramel and coffee and Jess got chocolate, salted caramel and raspberry). We then decided that we would go on a little trip to Prior Park, about 10/20 minutes because we’d heard they were beautiful an thought it would be a good photo opportunity!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

We then chilled in our hotel room, got ready for the evening and headed to dinner at Hall and Wood house. We both had a fallafel and Halloumi Burger with red peppers, guac and humous – we approved 🙂

We  had breakfast at the hotel again – Toast, cereal, coffee and tea, packed our bags and headed home 😦

Thank you Bath! its been real
